Where Are Youuuu? And I'm So Sorrrry!

As many of you know, I am a serious music lover, so here are some more band inspired nails. This time: Blink-182.

I started with a base of Sure Thing from Revlon for all of my nails. I then dry brushed Plum Seduction from Revlon and Club Prive from L'Oréal on my nails. On my ring finger, I painted the logo on using black acrylic, then added the name using a light tan and black acrylic. Finally, I splattered black acrylic on m,y nails using a toothbrush.

Gotta Catch 'Em All!

If the title didn't give it away, this weeks manicure is Pokémon inspired. Now I don't know about you guys, but I was definitely a Pokémon fan when I was younger. I didn't actually know how to play with the cards, but I watched the show and played the video game on my brother's old Game Boy. 

On my pinkie, I painted Squirtle. I started with a base of Club Privé from L'Oréal, then added the detail with acrylics. My ring finger is a Pokéball. The base is Sure Thing and Revlon Red from Revlon. Then I painted the rest of the Pokéball with white and black acrylic. My middle finger is Charizard, with a base of Sunkissed from Sally Hansen and details in acrylic. Finally, my pointer finger is Bulbasaur, with a base of Mermaid's Tears from OPI and acrylic detail. My thumb was another Pokéball. 

I'm super happy with how this manicure turned out! Definitely brings me back to second grade when I was given my first Pokémon card. I was always a huge fan of Ponyta (mainly because I had a horse obsession). What was your favourite Pokémon? Let me know!

Smile!

We all need to remember to smile a little more sometimes, and that's exactly what my current manicure is all about. I decided to find a bunch of famous smiley faces and paint them all over my nails.

So this was supposed to be a full, 10 nail manicure, but the yellow nail polish I bought (Lightening from Sally Hansen) which was on most of my nails chipped off. Like chipped off after one day to the point I didn't even want to try fixing it. Anyways, here are the 3 nails that survived. They just so happen to be my favourite anyways.

My ring finger is the Nirvana logo (which comes as a good time as it was just the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death. The base is Black Satin from Rimmel, and the logo is yellow acrylic. On my middle finger, I painted the Red John smiley face from the show The Mentalist. The base is White On, and I painted the smiley face with watered down red acrylic. My pointer finger is the Blink-182 logo, and the base is also White On. Then I added a stroke of Plum Seduction from Revlon and Club Prive from L'Oréal, and painted the logo with black acrylic. My thumb said smile, but you couldn't tell if I showed you, because it chipped off after a day.

Vintage Vibes

Hey guys! So, it's been 3 weeks since my last nail art post, and I feel so bad about that. I was just getting into final projects though and then exams, but with that I have good news. I have officially finished high school and written my last ever high school exams. Also, on June 15th I saw Marianas Trench in Lewiston. It was a great concert, and I was VIP so I got to meet them!! For those of you who don't know, Marianas Trench is a Canadian pop/punk/rock band. The band Ghost Town opened for them (who I am now a huge fan of). I didn't do nails for the concert, but I did draw the band and got the drawings autographed. I'm still tweaking the drawings though, so I'll post them soon.

Also, last week I had my prom, but I kept my nails simple with a few coats of Essence nail polish. Prom was good, and the after party was...erm...interesting. But anyways, the point is, I'm back for good to blog!

Here are my current nails.

I wanted to go with a vintage/retro comic book style for my nails. The colours I used are Club Prive from L'Oréal and black and white stripers. I'm super happy with how this turned out.

Also, I wanted to point out my new photography section on the blog. And are there any design or tutorial requests for summer?

Lost Generation

Hey people of the blogisphere! I'm back, better and bloggin'! So here's my Mani Monday.

The base colour is Club Prive from L'Oréal. Then I inked on the design. It's inspired by a design I've been working on, on my binder. The binder isn't quite finished yet, but when I'm done, I'll post a picture. Anyways, the jellyfish are based off the t-shirt I got from the Billy Talent concert (it's to represent their Dead Silence album). Then the middle nail is lyrics from Billy Talent, as is the "lost generation" on the pointer finger. The skyline is the Manhattan skyline, and on the thumb are Beatles lyrics.

Also, I have another drawing done.

It's based on a photo I took of one of the tigers at the Toronto Zoo last year. I've been working on this for 7 months (not straight through :p) and I'm happy to finally finish it.

Aztec Nails

For this design, I started with a base of Club Prive from L'Oréal. Then I use a white striper for the white lines. The black is acrylic, as are the white dots.

Bond... James Bond... Inspired

My latest manicure, is, as the title of this post says, James Bond inspired. It also happens to be my entry for the OPI nail art contest to win the OPI Skyfall collection. On my thumb is [a hand-painted] Sean Connery as James Bond. The base is White On from Sally Hansen. On my pointer finger is a tuxedo, with a base of Black Satin. I used Essie's Matte About You to make the collar and acrylic for the white shirt and black bow tie/buttons. My middle finger is a silhouette of Bond holding a gun. The base is White On with Wocka Wocka from OPI. My ring finger is the 007 logo, with a base of Amazon's Flash from L'Oreal. Finally, my pinkie is the Union Jack. The base is a blue Migi Nail Art pen. The red and white are acrylic. Enjoy and don't forget to vote for me! :p

London 2012

Yes I know the Olympics are almost over, but I just got around to doing Olympic nails.

On the pinkies, I painted the German flag, using Mellow Yellow, from Sally Hansen, Wocka Wocka from OPI and Black Satin from Rimmel London. The ring fingers are the London 2012 logo and the Olympic rings. The gold is Amazon's Flash from L'Oreal and the colours are acrylics. My middle fingers are the Canadian flag, painted with Whirlwind White, Sally Hansen and Wocka Wocka. Finally, my pointer fingers are the Slovenian flag. They're painted with Wocka Wocka, the blue is Yoga-ta Get This Blue by OPI, Whirlwind White and acrylics.
