Summer, Come Back!

I miss summer. And palm trees... although we don't have those here in Canada, other than maybe some little palm tree house plants. So that's what inspired this design: summer and palm trees.

My pinkie was a base of Sheer Nude from Orly, which I then outlined with a white striper from Stripe Rite. I created a blue gradient using Blue Away from Sally Hansen on my ring finger, then painted palm trees with a black striper, also from Stripe Rite. On my middle finger, I placed studs onto a base of Sheer Nude. Then for my pointer finger, I painted 3/4 of the nail with Blue Away, then painted a palm leaf with the black striper. Finally, I painted stripes using the white striper on a base of Sheer Nude on my thumb.

Anyone else missing summer right now?

So Sharky

Well kids, it's Shark Week (on Discovery Channel) and I just had to paint some nails for it. Keeping it simple for this manicure. They're not exactly scary shark nails, but hey they're still sharks.

The actual shark designs were based off of the Scratch nail wraps created by Nina Park. My pinkies are a base of Sure Thing from Revlon, then I used Dreamer from Revlon for the dots. My ring fingers and thumbs are a base of Sheer Nude from Orly. Then, I used Dreamer to make the shark and added eyes and teeth with black and white acrylic. My middle fingers are a base of Sheer Nude with stripes painted with Sure Thing. Finally, my pointer fingers are a base of Dreamer with Sure Thing polka dots.

I hope you guys are enjoying Shark Week, and if not, why aren't you???!!! :p

Anyways, see ya guys later this week with more designs.

Hope you guys enjoy! Nail Guru out.

A Little Bit Of Everything

I don't really know what to call this manicure. It's kind of got some vintage vibes going, with a lot of different designs going on.

My pinkie fingers are stripes, with a base of White On from Sally Hansen, and the stripes are made with black acrylic and tape. My ring fingers are sort of dandelion blossoms make with a black striper on a base of White On. My middle fingers are just two coats of Mint Sorbet from Sally Hansen. On my pointer finger, I painted a heart with black acrylic on a base of Blazed from Wet 'N' Wild. Finally, my thumb is a base Dreamer from Revlon, with black acrylic polka dots and a gold stud accent.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Floral Fancy

When I first painted this design, I really wasn't a fan of it. But, the longer it's on my nails, the more I like it. So here it is: some stripes and abstract flowers inspired by a design I saw in Nail It! magazine.

The base colour is White On from Sally Hansen, and the stripes were made with a black striper. Then I started making the flowers. The blue is a mix of White On and Dreamer from Revlon. The pink is St. James Park from Nails Inc., and the darker purple is a mix of Charming, Plum Seduction and Dreamer, all from Revlon. The lighter purple is a mix of Hello Marshmallow from Essence and Plum Seduction. Finally, the leaves are High Line Green from NYC and Sassy from Revlon.

This design is really easy. The stripes don't need to be perfect, and the flowers are pretty much just layering blobs of different coloured nail polish.

So what do you guys think? Abstract flowers: good or bad?

I Love It

So I completely forgot I did this manicure! It's from a couple weeks ago, and I've seen so many heart french manicures that I really wanted to do one myself. And it paid off! I love how it looks, plus I got a ton of compliments on it!

I used French Rose from Rimmel as the base for all my nails. On my pinkie, I made the heart with St. James Park from Nails Inc. and then striped on L.O.L from Essence. My ring finger is a heart of Black Satin from Rimmel, and my middle finger is L.O.L. with polka dots of Let's Get Lost by Essence. My pointer finger is Let's Get Lost, and the criss-crossing is St. James Park. My thumb (seen below) is The Living Daylights by OPI, with a few dots of St. James Park. Finally, I outlined all the hearts with black acrylic.

I hope you guys enjoy this manicure as much as I did. Super simple, but it's pretty awesome looking!

Black and White Mickey Mouse

Hey guys! So, I have lots of posts for you coming up! Especially with Halloween nearing. So in the next 3 weeks, expect concert nails, art photos and zombie and skeleton themed designs. For now though I have a simple, black and white design from *sorry* 2 weeks ago.

I kept it super simple with the geometric black and white theme. The black is Black Satin from Rimmel and the white is the Sally Hansen French manicure pen because I have yet to find a new white I like, ever since Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White was discontinued. So, do any of you know of any good white polishes? Let me know if you do! Anyways, back to the manicure. Yes, I stuck Mickey Mouse in, but by now you should all know my obsession with Disney, especially Mickey Mouse. :) Hope you guys enjoy, and I should have another post for you tomorrow.

By The Sea...

Hey guys! Back again. Two days in a row posting! Woo! Here's my current manicure.

I've been wanting to do nautical nails for a while, and I just haven't gotten around to it until now. The red is Gypsy Queen from Misa along with one coat of Wocka Wocka from OPI. The blue is Yoga-Ta Get This Blue from OPI and the white is a white striper. It was actually a super simple mani, but it looks really cute! Enjoy!

Just a Little Bit of Random

Hey guys. I feel so bad lately. I'm barely painting my nails and blogging, so I am now promising to bring a bunch of new designs and tutorials to you guys starting today. So, without further ado, the nail art.

It's a more summery design, which I seriously needed, since winter has been hitting hard in Ontario lately. My bright design just made me think of the summer (and spring!) that are sort of almost here. :p Anyways, the orange is Sunkissed from Sally Hansen, and the green is Lime Up! from Essence. The dots are Ogre-the-Top Blue from OPI and white acrylic. I used a striper brush to make the pink lines, which is Watermelon from Essie, and then a yellow striper from Stripe Rite.

What do you guys think? Is this a good summer design? And while I'm blogging, I may as well ask. Any spring or Easter tutorials you guys would like to see? Let me know!

31 Day Nail Art Challenge --- Day 12, Stripes

Okay, so I sort of lied about the semi-boring manicures. My day 12 one is kind of boring. Oh well. :)

I started with a base of Fig from JOE Fresh, then made the pin striping using tape with Stormy from Revlon Top Speed. I top coated it then added Essie's Matte About You.

Stripes and Gradients

Since the Olympics are over, I had to paint a new mani. And since it's summer, and it happened to be a busy weekend, I went for something simple. I made a blue gradient with TheNailasaurus technique. The colours shown are Ogre-the-Top Blue from OPI and You Belong to Me from Essence.

This nail was my favourite gradient.

So then a day later, I added stripes of Black Satin from Rimmel on my ring finger and thumb.

And here's a close up of the stripes over the gradient.

Vintage Inspired Nails

Lately, I've been seeing tons of "vintage inspired" (as they have been called) nail designs. They generally consist of pastel colours with stripes, polka dots and flowers. I thought I'd give it a try, so here we go!

The blue is You Belong to Me (Essence --- Check this brand out! Awesome nail colours for $1.50!!!), the pink is Essence as well, called Sweet As Candy. The mint green is Mint Sorbet from Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. The stripes are with a white striper and the dots are with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White. The roses are painted with acrylics.
