Let's Go Fly a Kite...

I'm loving Essence nail polish right now. And why not?! It only costs $1.50 and is awesome! :) So anyways, I painted my nails with Essence "You Belong to Me"

Sunlight

Flash

It's a really gorgeous light blue with a yellow undertone making it lean towards turquoise. It looks like a creme when applied, but in certain light, you can see it has a bit of shimmer. Of course, me being the nail art addict I am, I had to do something more with my nails. I went for a more simple design (which comes with a tutorial!), partly because I'm really tired right now (and have lots of homework) and partly because it's a design lots of people can make.

1. Apply base colour. After fully dry (I waited a whole day), cut out a tape template for the kite (I used an exacto knife). *There are different templates you can make. I went with one that looked more as if it were blowing in the wind, but you can just make a diamond.
2. Apply white polish (Sally Hansen Insta Dri's Whirlwind White) to the template.
3. Add a colour to make the four quadrants usually seen on a kite (I used a yellow striper).
4. Add the kite string and tail (I used black acrylic).
5. Finally, add some bows onto the tail (OPI's Ogre-the-Top Blue and Migi pink nail pen mixed with Essie's Watermelon). Top Coat.

Spiderman "Unzipped" Nails

I'm not a crazy superhero fan, but if you ask which superhero is my favourite, I definitely have to say Spiderman. I love that (especially in the Toby Maguire movies) that Peter Parker is just a normal nerdy guy, living in a real city. Because of this, and OPI's new release of the Spiderman collection, I decided to paint Spiderman nails.

The blue is Yoga-Ta Get This Blue from OPI and the red is a layer of Gypsy Queen from Misa, then a layer of Wocka Wocka from OPI. The grey for the hoodie is Stormy from Revlon Top Speed. The silver and black are acrylic craft paint.

Vintage Inspired Nails

Lately, I've been seeing tons of "vintage inspired" (as they have been called) nail designs. They generally consist of pastel colours with stripes, polka dots and flowers. I thought I'd give it a try, so here we go!

The blue is You Belong to Me (Essence --- Check this brand out! Awesome nail colours for $1.50!!!), the pink is Essence as well, called Sweet As Candy. The mint green is Mint Sorbet from Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. The stripes are with a white striper and the dots are with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White. The roses are painted with acrylics.

Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind...

These are the words of Lilo, as in Lilo and Stitch, which brings me to my latest manicure!

Enjoy! And remember, ohana means family...

OPI's Minnie Mouse

There are tons of new nail polish collections coming out, and some of them are exciting me like crazy! Most of all though, I can't wait for the OPI Minnie Mouse Collection.

It features a frosted red, called The Colour of Minnie, a shimmery magenta, called If You Moust, You Moust, a pretty pink, called I'm All Ears and a heart filled glitter, called Nothin' Mousie Bout It. It's set to release in June, but I don't know if I can wait! I'm a huge Minnie and Mickey Mouse fan, which makes this super exciting! Speaking of Minnie and Mickey, last year, after my return from Disney World, I painted them on my nails. Here's the look.

They were inspired by this purse that I bought in Disney. Enjoy!

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you...

Chances are, you know this quote. Maybe you don't know where it's from, but you know it. It was said by everyone's favourite, silly-old bear; Winnie the Pooh. And that's my manicure theme for now. I went with the classic style in which A.A. Milne used to draw Winnie the Pooh. So, without further ado, Winnie the Pooh!

What's your favourite Pooh bear quote?
