Merry (Belated) Christmas

So I'm a little behind on this... but here are my Christmas manicures!

Okay, first off, my Rudolph manicure. 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the classic Christmas movie, and seeing as Rudolph was my favourite, I had to do a tribute. I started with a base of Dorothy Who? from China Glaze on all my nails. Then, using brown, white, red, and black acrylic, I painted Rudolph and Clarice.

And then I had to pay tribute to another iconic Christmas movie: Home Alone. I started with a base of The Spy Who Loved Me from OPI, and then used white acrylic to paint "Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal" and the Christmas sweater designs.

For those of you who celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a great time, and for those of you who don't, I hope you had (or are having) a great time celebrating whatever you do!

Hope you enjoy!

Egyptian Flare

I wanted to do a simple manicure, but one which hopefully still had a pretty big impact. I feel like this design was exactly what I needed. Everyone who saw my hieroglyphic manicure loved it, which was totally awesome!

I started with a base of French Quarter for Your Thoughts from OPI, then using black acrylic, painted on the hieroglyphs. They spell out, from left to right, 'SING', as music is something extremely important to me. I also happen to be in love with Ancient Egyptian history, so this manicure combined a lot of things I love.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Some People Are Worth Melting For

I've only seen Frozen once, but that didn't stop me from falling in love with that goofy little snowman named Olaf. And so now I, like pretty much everyone else, can't help but smile when I see him, and so today's manicure was inspired by that lovable guy.

I started with a base of Blue Away from Sally Hansen, then started painting Olaf. I started with a base of white acrylic, and added details with red and black acrylic. On my pointer finger, I painted "I like warm hugs" with red acrylic, then added leaves and dots with white acrylic.

So there you go, a Frozen inspired manicure to match the frozen temperatures outside.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Imagine

34 years ago today, John Lennon was shot and killed outside of his New York home. That day, a legend was lost. He may not be my favourite Beatle, but without him, that legendary rock band would never have existed. Today's design pays tribute to the legend himself, John Lennon.

I started with a base of Black Taxi from Nails Inc. for all my nails. Then, using white acrylic, I painted John Lennon on my ring finger, and wrote "Imagine all the people" on my pointer finger.

So take a minute today to imagine all the people, living life in peace. And then, maybe we can actually try this living in peace thing.

Hope you guys enjoy.

And we all shine on.

'Tis the Season

Well it's December now, so you know what that means... CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!! Christmas is pretty much my favourite season, second only to Halloween, so I'm definitely excited for this time of year. And so, to kick things off, here's a quick little Christmas design.

I started with a base of Blue Away from Sally Hansen, then began painting the letters with red acrylic. I then added in the lining on the letters with white acrylic, as well as the dots and leaves. And there ya go. This was pretty quick for me, and probably only took about 10 minutes.

Are you guys ready for the holiday season?

Hope you guys enjoy!
