You Say You Wanna Revolution...

Here's another manicure I did when my computer had died. It's based on political graffiti that's painted around the world. I did this since I think we all forget the fact that we have the power to make a change if we work together.

The base colour is It's Grey-t to Be Here from Essence. I then dry brushed black and white over my nails, and added the details in acrylic.

I'll keep this post short. I hope you guys enjoy!

Salt in the Air, Sand in My Hair...

Hey guys. I feel like this is the millionth time I have apologized for my absence this year, but sorry I haven't been posting. I actually had a few manicures to post, and just when I was ready to upload them, my computer died. And I mean died. It wouldn't even turn on anymore. And then it took our family several weeks to buy a new computer tower. To make matters worse, there are several laptops in my house, but none have photoshop, so I was unable to edit photos and apply my watermark. But now I have a computer again. So it's all good. And here is one of my last manicures.

This manicure was inspired by Andy Davis, who is an artist, most likely better known as a designer for Billabong clothing. I'm a huge fan of Billabong clothes, with their beachy and relaxed style. Despite the fact that I'm a Canadian girl through and through, I still adore these clothes, especially since I love being at the beach. I had already seen his work, but I didn't really know who Andy Davis was. It wasn't until I went to Hawaii and bought some Billabong clothes with his designs that I really found out who he was. I pretty much fell in love with his designs right away. I love the simplicity and vibrancy of his illustrations.

So now to the nails. All my nails started with a base of Surfing Paradise from Island Girl Hawaii. I then applied two coats of Sheer Nude from Orly to my pointer, ring and pinkie fingers. To those three nails, I also applied two thin coats of white using my Sally Hansen French Tip Pen. All the designs are acrylic and a black striper. On my thumb is a beach scene, my ring finger is Pelly the Pelican (you can get swim shorts and bikinis in this pattern). My middle finger is based of a tank top I bought in Hawaii and my ring finger is the Andy Davis logo. Finally, my pinkie is inspired by the pattern of the surfboard of a surfer girl Davis designed.

I hope you guys enjoy, and for all of you back in school, good luck!

You're So Creepy

So, if you're familiar with the band Ghost Town, then you should understand the title, if you're not, You're So Creepy is a song by Ghost Town. Today's manicure is based off of Ghost Town and their album art created by imamachinist A.K.A Alister Dippner.

My thumb is a base of French Rose from Rimmel. The purple hair is Tomorrow Never Dies from OPI. The details are acrylic. My pointer finger is a base of Gypsy Queen from Misa and the details are in acrylic. My middle finger is a base of the Sally Hansen white french tip pen, with blue acrylic for the details and gradient. My ring finger is a base of Black Satin from Rimmel, with acrylic detail. Finally, my pinkie finger is Frostbite from China Glaze and the details are acrylic.

Enjoy!

Many Mini Masterpieces

Say that 5 times fast. ;) I just realized I haven't shown you guys my latest Sharpie manicure that I did a couple weeks ago.

Top left is Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh, top right is The Scream by Edvard Munch, bottom left is a piece by Piet Mondrian and bottom right is Banana by Andy Warhol. All the designs are down with Sharpie permanent markers.

Aloha!

Aloha guys! I just returned from Hawaii a few days ago, which is why I haven't posted in a couple weeks. I wanted to show you guys my nails from the vacation, as well as some photos of Hawaii.

I started off with my nails like this. My ring finger is a gradient of Pool Party from China Glaze and Watermelon from Essie for the sunset and Blue-Away from Sally Hansen and Ogre-the-Top Blue From OPI for the water. The sand of the island is real sand from the beach near my house here in Canada. I made the palm tree with a black striper. The rest of my nails were a gradient of Pool Party and Watermelon.

A sort of foggy looking photo underwater at Waikiki beach in Oahu.

After about 5 days in Hawaii, I changed up my design. I used Pool Party and Watermelon, as well as adding in some black and white stripers. On my thumb I wrote "aloha", which has three meanings: hello; goodbye; and I love you. I was going for "hello". On my ring finger, I wrote "shaka". Shaka means "hang loose" or "good vibes".

This is a catamaran on Waikiki beach.

This is surfboard rentals on Waikiki beach.

And a sunset at the Polynesian Cultural Centre.

And finally, a photo from snorkeling at Hanauma Bay.

Life's a Beach

I love the beach. Absolutely adore it. No matter where said beach is, I like it. And I also love summer. And tropical places; all of which inspired this design.

For my ring finger, I sponged on a gradient using Sun Kissed from Sally Hansen, Pool Party from China Glaze and Watermelon from Essie. The other nails are painted with Pool Party. The palm trees are done with a black striper.

I hope you guys enjoy!

By The Sea...

Hey guys! Back again. Two days in a row posting! Woo! Here's my current manicure.

I've been wanting to do nautical nails for a while, and I just haven't gotten around to it until now. The red is Gypsy Queen from Misa along with one coat of Wocka Wocka from OPI. The blue is Yoga-Ta Get This Blue from OPI and the white is a white striper. It was actually a super simple mani, but it looks really cute! Enjoy!
